Boy receives touching response to letter sent to dad in heaven

A little boy who wrote a letter to his dad in heaven has received a heartwarming response from his local postal service.

Seven-year-old Jase, from West Lothian in Scotland, tragically lost his father four years ago and wrote the letter for his dad’s birthday.

The letter, which was posted to his mum Teri’s Facebook page reads: “Mr postman, can you take this to heaven for my dad’s birthday.”

Several weeks later, Jase received a touching response from the Royal Mail.

“This was a difficult challenge avoiding stars and other galactic objects on route to heaven,” the letter said.

“However please be assured that this particular important item of mail has been delivered.

“I know how important your mail is to you. I will continue to do all I can to ensure delivery to heaven safely.”

The mum-of-two thanked the mail service for their “lovely” reply, saying Jase was overwhelmed by the letter.

“I actually cannot state how emotional he is knowing his dad got his card.

“You didn’t have to make the effort to do this, you could have just ignored it but the fact that you have made the effort for a little boy you’ve never met is such a lovely thing to do.

“Royal Mail you’ve just restored my faith in humanity and thank you, it honestly means the world to him.”

Many Facebook users were left drying their eyes after reading the exchange, with thousands commending the Royal Mail for their kind act.
